NXT Superstar Has Call-Up Scrapped After Being Deemed “Not Television Ready”

Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal made his return to WWE programming a couple weeks ago when he appeared on WWE’s Main Event. Mahal then returned to WWE Raw last week on the May 10th, 2020 episode accompanied by two men now known as “Shanky” and “Veer”.

Shanky, formerly known as Dilsher Shanky previously appeared at WWE’s Superstar Spectacle on January 22, 2021, where he teamed with Giant Zanjeer, Rey Mysterio, and Ricochet to defeat Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, King Corbin, and Shinsuke Nakamura in an eight-man tag-team match. Veer, formerly known as Rinku Singh was previously part of the group Indus Sher in NXT along with Saurav and manager Malcom Bevins.

It was interesting that WWE decided for only one member of Indus Sher to make the jump to the main roster alongside Jinder Mahal, and the reason for that has been revealed.

According to a new report via Fightful Select, former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal was ready for a return to TV for months. But that wasn’t the case for everyone in Indus Sher as only Rinku Singh, now Veer appeared on RAW appearing with Mahal. The report stated that Indus Sher member Saurav was “deemed not television ready.”
