Joey Janela Injured, Pulls Out Of Scheduled June Appearances
Joey Janela announced that he will be missing his June matches that were scheduled for GCW due to injury.
Janela posted a video on social media yesterday with the caption, “Regarding my June matches for @GCWrestling_”. Joey said that he hoped that everyone had fun at AEW’s Double or Nothing weekend, but that he had some bad news for fans. He went on state that he has not been cleared to compete, however doctors currently do not know the severity of his injury.
Janela said, “This sucks, this shit happens, I’ve dealt with it way too much over the past couple of years.” He will miss two of his scheduled dates for Game Changer Wrestling, but there is no definitive time frame for his return. While Janela will be unable to wrestle at the June GCW events he stated that he will still be able to do commentary. He added that he is about “85% sure” that he will be able to make his upcoming date scheduled in Texas.
It isn’t known exactly when Joey Janela suffered his injury, or what type of injury he sustained. Janela wrestled Hangman Page on Friday’s episode of Dynamite during Double or Nothing weekend, it is thought the injury may have occurred at some point during the match.
