Bianca Belair was originally scheduled to defend her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bayley at Money In The Bank in an “I Quit” Match, however plans changed when Bayley suffered a torn ACL while training.
Bayley’s injury occurred while taking part in the mandatory training WWE had required talent to participate in at the Performance Center prior to the company returning to a live touring schedule beginning tonight. It was reported that Bayley’s completely torn ACL will keep her out of action for around 9 months.
Bayley underwent reconstructive knee surgery earlier this week, and she posted an update on her Twitter.
“Can’t wait to miss the first show in front of fans again. I blame YOU for this. Thanks a lot”
It was announced that instead of defending her title at the upcoming Money in the Bank PPV, Belair will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Carmella on tonight’s episode of SmackDown from Houston, Texas.
