Thunder Rosa Signs with All Elite Wrestling
In a news release that may not come as a shock to some, All Elite Wrestling has announced that former NWA star Thunder Rosa has officially signed with the company.
The former NWA Women’s World Champion has been a mainstay on AEW Dynamite over the past year. So much so that she’s spent even more time working with AEW Owner Tony Khan than she has with NWA Owner Billy Corgan. Rosa has worked 18 matches for Corgan’s promotion since July of last year, meanwhile, she’s worked north of 30 for Tony Khan’s brand.
The announcement fuels speculation for Rosa’s involvement in AEW’s next major Pay-Per-View, All Out. She had already been looked at as a prime suspect to challenge Dr. Britt Baker for her AEW Women’s World Championship at the event.
The potential Rosa/Baker rematch would mark the first bout between the two since their historic ‘Lights Out’ match on Dynamite back in March. The pseudo-death match was a huge success amongst fans and critics alike. The match was awarded four and three-quarters stars from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, making it the joint-highest rated women’s match in the history of the United States.
