New Update on Thunder Rosa’s AEW Signing
Yesterday we reported that Thunder Rosa had officially signed with All Elite Wrestling. In the hours since that report was released, more news on the deal between Rosa and AEW have come to light.
According to a report from Ringside News, Rosa was actually bought out of her NWA contract by AEW owner Tony Khan. The report states that NWA owner Billy Corgan confirmed himself that the former NWA Women’s World Champion’s deal with the company was set to run through the end of the year.
The distinction on whether Rosa was a contracted AEW wrestler or not had felt like semantics in the first place. She has wrestled north of 30 matches for the brand in the last 12 months, almost double the number she worked for the company she was officially signed to in that same span.
Thunder Rosa is now free to work wherever she (or Tony Khan) so chooses. Rosa also made her Impact Wrestling debut this past Saturday when she challenged Deonna Purrazzo for her Knockouts Championship at Impact’s marquee Pay-Per-View of the year, Slammiversary.
