We haven’t seen CM Punk wrestle since the 2014 WWE Royal Rumble match, but it appears to only be a matter of time before we see him back inside a wrestling ring.. only this time for AEW.
News broke earlier in the week that CM Punk and AEW were in talks for an in-ring return, which is now reportedly a “done deal” as new reports state both sides have finally put pen to paper.
I appeared on Bodyslam’s jaBROnies podcast earlier today to give an update as to what I have heard in regards to CM Punk’s signing with AEW. I was told that AEW 100% wants CM Punk for Chicago, and that he will be there. I was told that it isn’t a matter of IF, but when as AEW is now trying to figure out which of the Chicago shows makes the most sense for him to appear.
“I believe the [Ringside News] report 100% and I’ve had a lot of other stuff told me that solidifies why I believe that. I was told that he’s 100% for Chicago. They want CM Punk in Chicago. They want him to be there. It’s not a matter if, but when. You know they have Dynamite, they have Rampage, and they have All Out.”
