Cm Punk has been in the mix of every wrestling rumor since his departure from WWE in 2014. Even in his absence from the business over the past nine years, he is still one of the most popular wrestlers in the game. His merch still sells and he is still a huge draw.
Throughout his hiatus, we saw punk enter the UFC and attempt to make a name for himself in the world of MMA. Unfortunately for him, after a valiant effort, things didn’t go as planned and it was back to the drawing board for the self-proclaimed ” Best In The World”.
Last week Sean Ross Sapp Of Fightful reported that rumors were running rampant that Cm Punk and AEW were in discussions about coming to terms on a deal for Punk to finally return to the squared circle. It was later reported by our own Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net that punk was 100% guaranteed to be showing up on one of the Chicago shows in the upcoming future.
While speaking with The Wrsetling Inc Daily Cassidy was asked about how talent was feeling about the news. Word around the signing backstage has been nothing but positive and those in the back are really excited
As far as I know, everybody seems to be really excited, that I’ve talked to because this is huge for them. I don’t think anybody harbors any real bad feelings towards him, except for the punk-[colt] Cabana thing, which is intrewsting with him being a producer, and they’re going to be in the back, so how is that gonna happen? their gonna have to interact at some point
It’s looking like it’s only a matter of time before we see Punk debut. Do you think Punk will be welcomed with open arms?
