Acclaimed Match Pulled By AEW After Caster’s Controversial Rap
The Acclaimed is by far one of the most popular tag teams on the AEW roster, but the team is now in a little hot water.
Last week after AEW Dark aired, social media was abuzz with what Max Caster rapped about during his entrance to the ring. Caster had a few lines mentioning Olympic gymnast Simone Biles’s mental health, and also mentioned the Duke Lacrosse team, not leaving a good taste in people’s mouths afterward.
Another person who was not happy with the situation was AEW President and CEO Tony Khan. While appearing on Busted Open Radio last Wednesday, after the episode of dark aired, Tony Khan called Caster’s rap “horrible” and stated that “had he heard the rap it would have never been approved for air”. He went on to say he would be overseeing editing on the show from now on so no situations like that happen again in the future.
It looks like now the Acclaimed may be facing consequences due to his comments. The acclaimed who was originally on the card for Dark tonight have been pulled. The acclaimed were scheduled to face Hunter Knott & Rosario Grillo on DARK. Caster was also pulled from an indie event last week.
We will have to see if the Acclaim can come back from this. What are your thoughts?
