In the most recent batch of WWE roster cuts, Mercedes Martinez was one of the names on the list. Martinez became a huge part of the NXT Women’s division before suffering an injury which had her sidelined at the time of her release.
This morning Martinez took to Twitter in a lengthy message to fans. while she thanked triple H and WWE, she admitted that she did never did quite fit the mold. She added that it never stopped her from working hard and showing the brand of authenticity she is known for.
Martinez wrote:
“ My life… I never thought I would ever make it to the WWE. I stayed dedicated, hustled, grinded , and sacrificed more than I could ever imagine to reach that goal. It took 20yrs…but I wouldn’t change anything bc the universe has a way of making things work out.
I never fit the mold ANYWHERE but i stayed TRUE to myself, ALWAYS.” The diamond in the rough” so to say…I truley want to thank @tripleh @wwe and @wweNXT for giving me the oppertunity of a lifetime. I understand this buisness is never a gaurenteefor anything.
The overwhelming love does not go unnoticed. But…DONT COUNT ME OUT! The Best of me is still yet to be unseen. I’m rebuilding myself and i know my worth, always have.My drive dedication, perseverance and my hard knocks stubborness says i have more to prove.
and that sometimes the risk is higher then the risk is higher then the reward. I’m greatful, blessed , and humbled. Thank you to all thathave text, messaged, emailed, called and to those that put me on blast on social media. lol
