Chris Jericho Calls AEW The “Coolest” Company In Wrestling
From the initial launch announcement of AEW, Chris Jericho let it be known the company was not only out to change the entire landscape of the wrestling world but also that they were out to change the “world.” Well AEW has stuck by that and is definitely making an impact and becoming a destination to many free agents.
During a recent interview on Audacy’s Bubba show on 100.7 star, The self-proclaimed “Demo God” spoke about AEW’s progress and what they have become. Jericho called the company “the coolest” and went into reasons why AEW is a hot product.
“This has been a really good time for us and one of the reasons why AEW has really gone through the roof and become the coolest wrestling company in the world is because of our storytelling. We’ve had this angle, as we say in wrestling, this story with Jericho and MJF for almost a year now. And it’s culminating with these five laborers of Jericho, which I took from the twelve labors of Hercules from Greek mythology. And I kind of have to go through these different guys in order to get to wrestle MJF again.
“So were goin to have, I think the fourth labor of Jericho, in Pittsburgh. Whos it going to be , whats it going to be , its all part of the story and you kind of have to follow along and watch and see. Whenever i have the last match, who knows when that might be, but ia all depends on the storyline and whats going on at the time. But i dont think im going to be one of those guys that goes’this is the last and its big bruhhh’ and cries at the end of it and goes ‘thank you for the memories!’ im not that type of guy , i dont care about that sort of stuff. When i have my last match, you may not even know. it just depends. AS long as i can continue to perform at the highest levels, that i feel that i can perform at the highest level that i feel that i can , then i’ll keep going. And when thats is , who knows, and who its against, it all depends on where we’re at at the time.”
Jericho is anticipated to face MJF on the September 5 pay-per-view All OUT in Chicago, But will have to get through Wardlow on this week’s episode of Dynamite. It will be even harder for Jericho due to the fact that MJF will be the special enforcer in the match.
