Former NXT Stars Sign With AEW
The number of releases that have come out of WWE over the past year has been staggering. Many big names including Andrade El Idilo, Alister Black, have since signed with AEW. It’s no question AEW has been benefiting from WWE’s losses, drawing good numbers on TV and also ticket sales since returning to live touring.
It now looks like we can add more former WWE names to the growing list. On a recent episode of the Talk Is Jericho podcast , Jericho invited 2.0 formerly EverRise on the NXT brand, where it was revealed that the team had officially signed with AEW.
The self-proclaimed Demo God confirmed on his podcast that 2.0 had recently inked a deal with the company. Jericho also noted that he had never met the team prior to the interview and was doing it as a favor to Kevin Owens, who has a lot of history with the Tag Team. As of this article, AEW has yet to confirm the signing.
Over the past few weeks, we have seen 2.0 in action first teaming up with Daniel Garcia to go up against Darby Allen, Jon Maxley, and Eddie Kingston. More recently the team has been in an ongoing feud with Allen and sting. Now that 2.0 has a good place and opportunity to show what they have we will have to see how they shine in the spotlight.
