Gran Metalik Asks For His Release From WWE
Gran Metalik is a 17-year wrestling veteran who is known for his high-flying luchador Style. He is most notably known for being one-third of the Lucha House Party in WWE. Metalik was also a finalist in the Cruiserweight Classic Tournament.
Fightful select is now reporting that a report from Mas Lucha states that the Lucha House Party member is asking for his release following dissatisfaction with the way his tenure has been handled in the company. Reportedly, his contract runs through 2023.
“Mexican wrestler Gran Metalik, who in Mexico we know as Máscara Dorada, has asked the North American company WWE for a release from his contract due to lack of opportunities and a clear project within its ranks; this was confirmed to Más Lucha by sources close to the masked wrestler from Guadalajara, who debuted on the RAW brand in 2017. For several months, Gran Metalik, member of Lucha House Party, had shown his dissatisfaction with the way his career has been handled so far, so he seriously considered requesting the release of his contract, which runs until 2023,” the report states.
In 2018, Metalik asked, in a tweet that has since been deleted, if he should go and travel the independent circuit or go back to CMLL should he leaves WWE. It is unknown what the WWE plan to do or if they will grant Metalik his request, but we will have to wait and see.
