WWE Relaunching “American Gladiators”
WWE’s reach goes far beyond the ring. The company has many projects outside the wrestling world some successful and then theirs the XFL. Well, now it looks like the company is bringing back a show that was popular in the late eighties and early nineties.
Deadline reports that WWE and MGM are teaming up to bring back American Gladiators. The 1989 show still has a cult following and this will also expose a whole new generation to the, sometimes dangerous, world of American Gladiator competition.
MGM and WWE will present a “reimagined version” of the non-scripted reality competition show. It is not noted exactly how they will change things up, but reality television guru Mark Burnett and his team are in charge of things.
Mark Burnett and his team are currently pitching the rebooted series, which is based on the format created by Johnny Ferraro and Dan Carr, to broadcasters and platforms.
It will be interesting to see how the show is received by viewers.
