More Words Added To WWE’s List Of Banned Words
WWE has made a list of banned words or sayings in order to keep its own identity the focus of fans.
Words that are currently banned are“Blood, choke, belt, strap, diva, headshot, trauma, kayfabe, Mofos, house show, DQ, The Anti-Diva, spinal injuries, victim, violence, violent, wrestling, wrestlers, WWF, wifebeater, curb stomp, phrases including the word “push” and “being over,” babyface, heel, job, jobber, card, strangle, kill and murder.”It now looks like something new has been added to this list.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that announcers were told not to say the name of the city because they don’t feel the city name “sounds prestigious enough.”
The company will sometimes avoid saying the name of a city if they don’t feel like it is a big enough location for them. They will also sometimes say that they are at a University instead of namedropping the location. It appears that Raleigh got that treatment.
We will have to see if this trend keeps up.
