On June 2 of this year, Buddy Matthews (Buddy Murphy in WWE) was released along with a slew of stars in what was called budget cuts by WWE. Since his release, Matthews has released a series of vignettes which we still have seen a conclusion to. Well, it looks like the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion might be hinting that a conclusion is coming.
Last week we reported that during an interview with Busted Open Radio, Tony Khan confirmed that the Casino Ladder match next week will include a surprise entrant.
In a now-deleted tweet, Murphy, who is now known as Buddy Matthews, took to Twitter and shared a picture of a Joker emoji, strongly hinting at being the Joker on this week’s episode of Dynamite, where a Casino Ladder match has been booked to determine the new #1 contender for AEW Champion Kenny Omega.
We will have to see if Matthews is the surprise entrant in contrary to earlier reports that AEW passed on the former WWE star.
