Many on The Smackdown Brand Not Thrilled About The Trade For Charlotte Flair
Earlier this month the WWE held its most recent draft that saw the Smackdown and Raw brands Pick up the superstars of their choosing. Some stars stayed on the brand they were already on and some will have to get acclimated to their new home. One of those moves we saw was the recent returning Becky Lynch who is now the Smackdown women Champion, picked up by Raw, and Charlotte Flair who is currently the Raw women Champion will be moving to Smackdown , and from the sound of it, some on the Smackdown brand were not happy with the move.
Ringside News is reporting that Fox has been trying to get Charlotte Flair on SmackDown since their deal started. She was even heavily featured during Fox promos for SmackDown prior to their debut on the network in hopes that she would be team blue.
A tenured member of the creative team told Ringside news that the Flair and Lynch trade was a popular point of discussion this week. Specifically, “how Raw gets Becky (who everyone likes) and SmackDown gets Charlotte (who is not popular behind the scenes).”
We will have to see what the company decides to do with the women’s titles after this weekend.
