There has been a trend in the past few months of WWE changing or shortening the names of WWE Superstars. Following their debut on the main roster, Shotzi Blackheart and and Tegan Nox became Shotzi and Nox. We also saw Keith Lee receive a name change prior to his release. He went from Keith Lee to Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee.
It seems as though there is another pair of superstars to add to this list. WWE.com’s page featuring their current roster shows the former Angel Garza as ‘Angel’ and Humberto Carrillo as ‘Humberto’. These two were recently drafted to Smackdown in the 2021 Draft. On the November 5th episode of Smackdown, they made their Smackdown in-ring debut as ‘Los Lotharios’ defeating Mansoor & Cesaro.
An NXT Referee has also received a name change. Chloe Christmas has received the new name ‘Paige,’ even changing her social media handle to @RefPaigeWWE. Former NXT Women’s and Divas Champion ‘Paige’ posted a seemingly good-faith tweet in light of this name change.
