Kenta Calls Out CM Punk Again After IWGP United States Championship Win
Kenta has been calling out CM Punk for years now. Even pre-CM Punk’s AEW debut the New Japan Star and Bullet Club member has called out the Second City Savior numerous times.
Back in August Kenta had to take time off after being diagnosed with covid, and now fresh off his victory against Hiroshi Tanahashi and capturing the IWGP United States Championship, the star is once again calling out Punk. Post win at New Japans Power Struggle Show Kenta spoke directly into cameras and told Punk “He’s ready to put his to sleep.”
“I am the new IWGP United States Champion! I don’t know if you guys remember what I said when I came to New Japan in 2019. I said I’m here to prove who I am. After three years, I finally prove who the fuck I am, baby. I’m the United States Champion, it doesn’t matter if it’s going to happen or not, but I just want to entertain you guys. I want to give you guys a home. Hey CM Punk! I’m ready to put you (to) sleep,”
Kenta recently has walked through the forbidden door and appeared on AEW television to take on Jon Moxley and Punk has expressed interest in going over and competing in New Japan so the chances we see a match between the two is highly likely.
