The popularity of wrestling is at an all-time high and the landscape of wrestling has surely changed as WWE is not necessarily the most popular wrestling promotion around, and now it looks like there might be a new promotion popping up soon.
On a recent appearance on The Wrestling Inc. Daily, Jarrett said that there is a ton of opportunity for a new promotion. There’s a lot of talent out there, especially with the recent WWE releases. He said it’s an opportunity for him.
“I think there’s much more of an opportunity, an exponential more of an opportunity… So the ability to create good high-quality compelling content has never been more readily available. Then pair that with all the talent around the world that is working consistently, then yes, the opportunity is there for me and a lot of others.”
Conrad Thompson, who co-host’s a podcast with Jeff Jarrett, took to Twitter to respond to a fan who asked if there was any interest. He posted a “My interest is piqued,” meme from Curb Your Enthusiasm. He then said he was joking. But maybe not joking. We will have to see if this story continues to gain legs. As many wrestling fans may know Jeff Jarret has some experience in running promotions as In 2002, Jarrett and his father together founded NWA Total Nonstop Action (NWA-TNA) (now known as Impact Wrestling). After departing the promotion in 2014, Jarrett founded another new promotion, Global Force Wrestling though they weren’t very successful he definitely not green when it come to running a company.
