Dana White Suggests Nate Diaz Is Getting Old For The UFC
Nate Diaz has been one of the most recognizable fighters in the UFC. One of Nate’s more known matches was against Jorge Masvidal in November of 2019. The bout took place at UFC 244 when Masvidal won the “BMF” title. Diaz lost via doctor’s stoppage. He has planned to start his own fight promotion after his retirement from MMA.
In his most recent fight, he faced Leon Edwards at UFC 263. He lost the fight via decision. Nate has also stated that he wanted to fight again in the three or four months following this bout. Nate Diaz only has one more fight left in his UFC contract, leaving his future in the company unknown.
Dana White spoke to Kristine Leahy about Nate Diaz’s future within the company. While stressing that he was unsure about Diaz’s future, Dana suggested that Diaz might be getting too old to compete.
Dana said, “I don’t know, that’s up to him [if Diaz fights in the UFC again]. Everybody starts to get old and this isn’t a place you stay forever. This isn’t a job, this isn’t a career, this is an opportunity.”
Conor McGregor has already made it known that he wants to have a third fight with the Diaz brother at some point. It is yet to be seen if there will be a third fight between the two stars.
