Last night on RAW during their match with the Street Profits AJ Styles and Omos started to show signs that their partnership could be coming to an end very soon. Just as AJ was about to finish things off with a Phenomenal Forearm, Omos tagged himself in. AJ expressed visible frustration.
AJ and Omos lost the match after Omos purposely got counted out. AJ tried to get through to him, but Omos left. The seeds for the long-awaited split were planted. Dave Meltzer noted on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE has big plans for Omos.
“I sense this is a way to get him as an Andre The Giant babyface, so this is a way to get him there, yeah.”
It’s been reported that WWE sees a lot more in Omos than many fans and AJ Styles has said he believes Omos will go on to be a main event star. it now looks like the company appears to believe the same.
We will have to wait and see if WWE pulls the trigger on Omos and if he will go over with fans.
