Chris Jericho Says There Is No Reason For Him To Stop Wrestling

Chris Jericho is one of the most recognized names in wrestling, but also outside of the business in the entertainment world. The 51-year-old has done it all from living the rockstar life touring with his band Fozzy, to appearing in Hollywood Blockbuster films. With Jericho now being a mainstay in Professional wrestling for three decades, many fans have questioned if it’s time for Le champion to call it a career.

If it’s up to him, it is looking like Jericho will go until he can’t anymore. In a recent interview with Newsweek’s Matthew Allen Girard Jericho said the “end” of his career is the furthest thing from his mind. He made his pro wrestling debut back in 1990. Jericho commented on his longevity.

“I think part of the reason I’ve had such longevity is that I go with the flow and I follow my heart. Did I ever expect to be 31 years on the job? I can’t say that I did, but I can’t say that I didn’t. When people ask ‘how long are you going to do this,’ I say ‘I don’t know. When I feel like I don’t want to do it anymore.’ I don’t feel that way right now. There’s really no reason to stop for me because it’s fun for me to work with this whole new generation of stars that are growing into their own and helping them,” Jericho continued. “I think when you kind of live in the now it makes things a lot better, a lot more important, and a lot more special in what you are doing. I think we’ve done a great job with that and we’ve really only just begun in a lot of ways.If I didn’t enjoy it and I didn’t have fun with it, I wouldn’t f**king do it.”

The contributions that Jericho has made to the business are nothing to shake a stick at. In every promotion he has been in he has left a mark in one way or another.

One thing that Chris Jericho has always done is he has always found a way to reinvent himself and has been able to adapt to the changing times. It will be interesting to see what The Demo God will do next in his career. Jericho is currently off of AEW television as he is touring with Fozzy in the U.K.
