Eddie Kingston Details How “Real” His Match With CM Punk At Full Gear Was
Eddie Kingston and CM Punk have a long history that goes back to back when both wrestlers were working on the independent scene.
Kingston and CM Punk have never shared a ring together up until their match at Full Gear. From the looks of it, some if not most of those scathing promos may have come from a very real place.
While speaking with News 12 of New York, Kingston would go on to say that the promos that the two cut leading up to their match were things the two have been wanting to say for a long time. Kingston would then go on to say that the two were actually ‘fighting’ during their match.
“That wasn’t a promo. That was something we’ve both wanted to say to each other for fifteen years. That was fifteen years of buildup for both of us. So then you think ‘how do you follow that up with a match?’ It wasn’t a match, we actually fought. I hit him, he hit me, you know what I mean? If the fans enjoy it, they enjoy it. At that point, with someone like him who I don’t like, I don’t care if people like it or not at that point. It could’ve been zero people in the audience, I was going to hit him,
Eddie Kingston is currently in a program with Daniel Garcia and 2point0, while Punk is busy dealing with MJF. We will have to see if the two end up working a program again together down the road.
