Will Ospreay Captures Warrior Wrestling Championship
Will Ospreay has captured the Warrior Wrestling Championship. defeating former champion Trey Miguel and Blake Christian in a triple threat match to win the belt in the main event of Warrior Wrestling 17.
The event emanated at the Tinley Park Convention Center, outside of the promotion’s usual venue of Marian Catholic High School. After winning the title, Ospreay promised to carry the title among his other belts into the Tokyo Dome for Wrestle Kingdom 16. The match was fast-paced and high flying as expected from the three men in the ring.
Miguel, the former IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion, had held the gold for more than a year. Miguel won the championship at a Stadium Series show on September 26, 2020 by defeating Brian Pillman Jr. and Brian Cage in a triple threat match.
Ospreay currently leads the United Empire stable in NJPW, and he’s set to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 16 Night Two.
