Bryan Danielson Talks Ring Of Honor And Wanting To Face Jonathan Gresham
Ahead of his title match with “Hangman” Adam Page at Winter is Coming, Bryan Danielson spoke to Dallas News about the opportunity, Ring Of Honor, and its uncertain future.
“As far as the future, who knows? I don’t even know what they’re thinking or how they’re going to restructure or anything like that. The wrestling industry is a hard industry to be profitable in, and especially with WWE and AEW already taking up so much of the wrestling fans’ mental space.”
Danielson also mentions wanting to face Jonathan Gresham, the current ROH World Champion who won the title at this year’s Final Battle. He believes Gresham is one of the guys that’s carried the technical wrestling torch, and the match would be fun.
Preceding both his recent signing to AEW and 11-year tenure in WWE, Danielson is considered one of the “Founding Fathers” of ROH. He wrestled in the very first event and would become ROH World Champion, holding the title for 15 months before Homicide dethroned Danielson for the championship. He would then wrestle with the company until his departure in 2009.
