Konnan Believes Brian Cage Will Eventually End Up In WWE
While speculation as to who will be the first major AEW performer to jump to the WWE continues to circulate, Brian Cage is a name that has come up as being unhappy with his role in AEW. The former member of Team Taz had been featured in a feud with the group on television after being kicked out of the group at Fyter Fest. Since, Cage has received some heat off of the screen due to a few choice tweets sent out by his wife, Melissa Santos.
While speaking on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, wrestling veteran Konnan spoke about Brian Cage’s status in AEW. Konnan made it known that he believes Brian Cage will eventually make his way to WWE.
“I found out about him because Norman Smiley who works there as a trainer in WWE said ‘hey they’re releasing this guy and he is a good guy, can you help him in Mexico. He did a tryout match with Eli Drake, they were a team somewhere in California and they went for a AAA tryout and that is where I met him. He was always bummed that he did not make it in WWE so I think that was always his dream.”
Although there’s a lot of smoke surrounding Cage’s name, it’s reported that there are a few more years left on his deal with the company. Cage has not been seen on television since October 6th when he lost a street fight against former stablemate Ricky Starks.
