WWE Reportedly Heavily Interested in Wardlow
Wardlow has become one of AEW’s top young stars since he attacked Cody Rhodes in his 2019 debut. An integral piece in the presentation of the Maxwell Jacob Friedman character, Wardlow has gradually become one of the most over superstars on the AEW roster, similar to the rise of Batista during his Evolution run with Triple H.
As MJF attempted to gain an edge on CM Punk, MJF volunteered Wardlow for a match with the Second City Saint on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS. This is perhaps Wardlow’s biggest contest to date and ahead of his match, a new report has dropped on Twitter via WrestleVotes declaring that WWE will be heavily interested when Wardlow’s contract epires.
Wardlow’s a clear fit for what WWE historically is looking for. At 6’2, 270 lb, Wardlow is a pretty big wrestler who is a solid in-ring competitor with an excellent screen-presence. Wardlow, however, has noted that he would prefer to be an AEW lifer. “In 10 or 20 years, I am going to be so excited and proud to look back and say that I was one of the AEW originals and that means so much to me because my career started, obviously I did some indies, but the world didn’t know me,” Wardlow told in an interview with PWInsider, “As far as the world knows my career started with AEW and it’s going to end with AEW, and I look forward to accomplishing and growing as much as humanly possible and reach the stars throughout the next 10 years.
