WWE Confirms Elimination Chamber Event Will Take Place In Saudi Arabia
World Wrestling Entertainment is headed back to the Middle East again! And for the first time ever, they are bringing the Elimination Chamber with them! This is a unique concept as in the past the company would hold the Elimination Chamber “Premium Live Event” and the Crown Jewel “Premium Live Event” as two separate events.
Mat Men Podcast’s Andrew Zarian first reported the news of WWE returning to Saudi Arabia on February 19th, 2022. This was followed by Fightful.com reporting that the company would be bringing the Elimination Chamber with them.
WWE has released statement about the event:
“The General Entertainment Authority, in cooperation with WWE, has announced that the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event will be held at the world’s largest pillarless superdome in Jeddah, on Saturday, Feb.19, 2022. More details of the event will be announced in the coming weeks. The Elimination Chamber show complements the commitment of the General Entertainment Authority to provide the most famous international events and entertainment shows. This show was preceded by several previous partnerships with WWE to present international shows in the kingdom, which achieved remarkable local and international success, including the recent WWE Crown Jewel show in Riyadh Season 2021 and WWE Super ShowDown in the previous Riyadh Season in early 2020.”
World Wrestling Entertainment returned to Saudi for Crown Jewel on October 21, 2021 in a card that was headlined by WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns successfully defending the championship against Brock Lesnar. This marked the company’s return to the Middle East after last being there in February 2020 due to the global explosion of the Covid-19 pandemic.
