UFC 270 Pre-Fight Press Conference Recap
On Thursday, UFC hosted their fight week press conference with the main event and co-main event fighters. The champions and challengers had plenty to say to each other. In case you missed the live feed, UFC did post highlights on their YouTube Channel.
One of the main highlights of the press conference took place when Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane were asked to walk through the time Francis KO’d Gane in sparring, something that Gane denied having happened. When the question was put to the two fighters, Gane pressed Ngannou to tell everyone what happened in his words. Ngannou went on to reveal that a left high kick put Gane on the floor and that was the end of the sparring session. However, Gane claimed he was only hurt as opposed to knocked out. Gane claimed that Francis couldn’t do technical sparring. As this is all word of mouth, we will likely never know the full story of these two behemoths sparring.
The Heavyweights weren’t the only ones throwing trash talk shots. Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo were respectful and congratulatory to each other following Moreno wrestling the title away from Figueiredo at UFC 263 last June. During the presser, the respect was clearly no longer there as Figueiredo implied Moreno tried to duck him for another contender for his first title defense. Figueiredo stated that he would knock out Moreno Saturday Night.
You can watch btoh of these fights and more on tomorrow night’s UFC 270 card, emanating from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
