Update On Ronda Rousey’s WWE Contract, How Often She Will Appear On TV, And More
Former UFC Bantamweight Champion and former WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey last appeared in a WWE ring at WrestleMania 35. Rousey would unsuccessfully attempt to defend her title in a “Winner Takes All Match” against Becky Lynch, and WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. Lynch would go on to win the match, but we would not see Rousey again.
Rousey would take time away from the ring to focus on her family life, and gave birth to her first child on September 27th, 2021. However, it was reported earlier this week via Fightful that Rousey has been back training for an in-ring return this year, and that she is also currently under contract with WWE.
Some more information on Ronda Rousey’s contract, her return and and how often we can expect to see her appear on WWE programming was revealed via Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It was stated that Rousey’s deal is for a year, and that she will be around for more than just a Royal Rumble and WrestleMania match.
“A year is the deal, from what I heard. From my understanding… I don’t know if she’s going to be there every week, but my understanding is it’s not just like, a match at the Rumble and then a WrestleMania match and then gone. It’s more than that.”
A lot of rumors have been going around, and many expect for Ronda Rousey to return to WWE during tonight’s Royal Rumble premium live event.
