Rob Van Dam Reveals He Was On Standby For WWE Royal Rumble
Rob Van Dam is considered by many a pioneer of the wrestling business. Known for his high flying ability, he has had successful runs in most of the major promotions in the United States including WWE, Impact and ECW. While he has taken some bookings for smaller companies over the last few years, evidently the former WWE Champion was set for a one-night comeback at the Royal Rumble event.
During an interview with Sportskeeda, RVD revealed that he was on standby and even had ring gear ready in case WWE called on him to appear during the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
“I let the WWE know that I was available if they needed me for Royal Rumble, and I was on standby, with a brand new outfit feeling great, you know, in a great condition. In the end, they did not call me in, but it could happen anytime. I really do not have any plans for it, but you know, I would consider any situation from any company. I would definitely consider it. If it’s right, it’s right.”
There is no doubt that fans would welcome an RVD comeback, but another WWE run for the WWE Hall of Famer doesn’t seem imminent.
