Over the weekend Matt Cardona would add another title to his resume, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
Cardona would go head to head against Trevor Murdoch for the NWA Title, and defeat him to capture the belt at the latest NWA Powerrr tapings in Oak Grove, Kentucky on Saturday February 12th. Not long after winning the match, Cardona would be called out by a former NWA World Champion Nick Aldis.
Aldis would challenge Cardona to a match for the title at NWA’s upcoming Crockett Cup event. The historic event will take place on March 19th and 20th, at The Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee.
