Bobby Lashley Reportedly Out At Least 4 Months With Shoulder Injury
At the WWE Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia this weekend, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley was removed from the Elimination Chamber with commentary remarking that he had entered into concussion protocol.
Speaking to The Ringer Wrestling Show on Saturday, former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide revealed that while the concussion was a worked injury, the reality may be worse for Lashley.
I have under good authority that Lashley is shoot hurt and has been hurt since the Rumble match. If you’ve noticed, he hasn’t worked any Raw’s. He hasn’t really defended his title. He was shoot hurt at the Lesnar match at the Rumble.
Kazeem Famuyide, on The Ringer Wrestling Show, Feb. 19
Famuyide added that he’s being told that Lashley suffered a shoulder injury which will require surgery, and will put him on the shelf for at least four months. Of course, this would put his return date in early summer, and leave him out for WrestleMania in Dallas, April 2-3.
With defending WWE Champion Lashley removed from the match, Brock Lesnar won the chamber match, last eliminating Austin Theory, to claim his seventh WWE Championship (and 10th World Title in WWE).
