Cesaro’s WWE Contract Reportedly Expires
According to a report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Cesaro’s WWE contract has quietly expired. This report was later confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful. Cesaro and WWE had reportedly been in contract negotiations, but failed to reach an agreement before Cesaro’s contract expired. As noted by Johnson, Cesaro will not have a 90-day non compete clause. Johnson also noted that Cesaro had been scheduled to be at a Smackdown taping in Hershey, Pennsylvania tomorrow.
Cesaro signed with WWE in 2011 and would go on to become the first ever Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal Winner, as well as United States Champion and Raw and Smackdown Tag Team Champion. Many fans considered Cesaro an underutilized talent. While his contract future is not clear, Cesaro will be an asset wherever he ends up.
