Flip Gordon Has Not Signed With AEW Despite Appearance On BTE
Flip Gordon has a history with The Elite and he was a part of All In which would eventually lead to the formation of AEW. Gordon, who has been working for ROH and NJPW, was once a featured star on the Being the Elite series. When it was announced that AEW would be forming, many believed that Gordon was s shoo-in for the company, but that wasn’t the case.
Flip has not been seen on BTE for a long time now, so it was a surprise when Flip made an appearance on this week’s episode. This got people talking, and many wondered if he had signed with AEW.
Fightful Select has now shot down those rumors. Gordon signed a multi-year extension with ROH in the spring of 2020. It isn’t known if he is officially a free agent at this time. ROH has been very good about allowing talent to pursue other ventures during their hiatus.
“Fightful spoke with several within All Elite Wrestling about Flip Gordon’s presence backstage at recent AEW Dynamite tapings. Gordon appeared on an episode of Being The Elite, where he participated in a recurring bit with Young Bucks, Adam Cole and others. He told numerous people backstage that as of then, he’d not signed with AEW.”
It was noted that Gordon told various people backstage during his visit to AEW Dynamite that he had not signed with the company. We will have to see if things change.
