Cody Rhodes WWE Return Is Likely Being Saved For WrestleMania
Earlier this year, Cody Rhodes made waves in the wrestling world when it was announced that he and his wife Brandi would be departing All Elite Wrestling. The two parties could not come to terms on a new contract, leading many to question what’s next for the American Nightmare. Reports surfaced early on that Cody would likely return to WWE where he made his name. For the longest time, there was no definitive answer.
Over the weekend, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson confirmed that Cody had indeed signed a contract with WWE. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that he is under the notion that they would do the same thing that they did when The Hardy Boyz returned to WrestleMania 33 in 2017.
“Every impression I have is that he’s doing the Hardyz thing where you show up on the day of the show. I mean he could show up tomorrow. We got two Raw’s left. Like The Hardyz when they showed up on the day of the show at WrestleMania. I know that that’s been talked about.“
Regardless of when Rhodes makes his return, fans are excited and curious to see how he will be used by the WWE. It’s looking like Rhodes first feud back with WWE will be against former WWE Champion Seth Rollins. Bodyslam will continue to monitor all things Cody Rhodes.
