Gable Steveson Plans On Being At WrestleMania
Gable Steveson officially signed with WWE back in September of 2021. The Olympic Gold Medalist was drafted to Raw. However, WWE later confirmed that he would complete his remaining time at The University of Wisconsin, where he’d win his second straight NCAA National Championship. With rumors that his debut is impending, Gable commented on the matter during an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated.
“I plan on going to WrestleMania, That’s the first time WWE fans will see me and what I’m about. I’m going to put my heart out there.”
Before his final match in collegiate wrestling Steveson said he received messages from Paul Heyman, Triple H and Brock Lesnar.
“Paul Heyman is always like the first one to text, and that means a lot. He always reaches out and makes sure I’m good. Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque checks up on me, and so does Brock Lesnar. They’ve shown me a lot of love and respect,” he said.
After picking up his final win Steveson left his shoes on the mat, signifying his amateur wrestling career.
“It was real special for me to go out there, have that last match, and leave my shoes on the mat, Leaving my shoes on the mat, that’s the way I want my career to be remembered. I gave my heart to wrestling. But even now, with those shoes off, I’ll keep wrestling. It’s what I grew up doing. Even if I step away from the competition, I’ll never step away from the practice. With wrestling comes so much sacrifice and dedication, and I’ve met so many people along the way that have impacted my life. It’s amazing to see how this journey has played out, and it’s cool to think about how this next chapter will unfold.”
It is unknown to what capacity Steveson will at WrestleMania, though the show seems to be full of surprises. Bodyslam will keep you up-to-date on the situation.
