AEW’s JD Drake To Face Darius Carter In Brooklyn
After adding his name to the historic list of winners of the Super-8 tournament and defeating now-former ROH Pure Champion Josh Woods at EWING, Catalyst Wrestling Champion Darius Carter battles JD Drake this Sunday at Catalyst Wrestling’s fifth-anniversary event.
Since debuting at Catalyst Wrestling’s first-anniversary event in 2018, Carter has defeated some of the brightest stars in not only Catalyst but in pro wrestling. Defeating talent such as AEW’s Anthony Bowens in a best of five series, Colby Corino for the Catalyst championship and his win over Woods earlier this year.
Now he faces another elite challenger in JD Drake, who returns to Catalyst for the first time since the promotion returned to live events in the fall of 2021.
A member of the prestigious Workhorse faction, Drake has held championships in nearly every promotion he’s worked for, including EVOLVE, WWN, and Prestige Wrestling, and alongside longtime partner Anthony Henry faced off against Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson on AEW Dynamite in their first paring under the tutelage of William Regal.
This match headlines a card that includes an NWA Junior Heavyweight title defense as champion Homicide puts the title up against Drake’s Wingmen partner, “Pretty” Peter Avalon, who makes his Catalyst debut on April 10th from The Muse in Brooklyn.
