As seen on the latest episodes of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown!, WWE has been making a number of name changes to on screen superstars and their presentation.
This past Friday, we saw the renaming of Marcel Barthel of Imperium, to that of Ludwig Kaiser, and former NXT Women’s Champion, Raquel Gonzalez, to that of Raquel Rodriguez. Kaiser and Rodriguez, who’s real life name is Marcel Barthel and Raquel Gonzalez, were making their Main Roster debuts, on the post WrestleMania edition of Smackdown!.
Earlier in the week, on Monday Night Raw, we saw Wrestlemania 38 standout Austin Theory, renamed to just that of ‘Theory’, at the behest of Mr McMahon, following their ‘stunning’, by Stone Cold Steve Austin.
In keeping with these changes, and referenced on last night’s episode of NXT 2.0, Legado Del Fantasmo member Raul Mendoza, has been renamed, to that of Cruz Del Toro. While no formal announcement of such a name change was mentioned on last night’s show, both Vic Joseph and Wade Barrett made mention to ‘Del Toro’, while he was competing in the Gauntlet match for the vacant NXT Tag Team Titles.
Following this, WWE.com have published an article today, confirming this name change for Mendoza, and listing his accomplishments in his updated bio whilst a member of the NXT brand.
