Cody Vance is best known as 10 of the popular heel stable Dark Order, in All Elite Wrestling. On April 25, however, all masks and gimmicks were shed as Vance posted across social media about a deeply personal health struggle.
On Twitter, Vance shared a photo of himself standing and hooked to an IV attached to a medical device, receiving treatment for the Crohn’s Disease he writes of having been diagnosed with twenty years ago. Vance Tweeted:
His Facebook page expounds on how his battle with the disease inspired his childhood dream to be a wrestler. Vance made that dream come true, beginning his pro wrestling journey at Monster Factory Pro Wrestling where he trained and performed. He defeated Punisher Martinez, now known in World Wrestling Entertainment as Damian Priest, for the MFPW Heavyweight Championship. Vance also wrestled for EVOLVE, and has made appearances for WWE. He premiered for AEW in 2020.
In discussing his health condition with transparency and candor, Vance allowed pro wrestling fans to see not only his battle with Crohn’s, but the determination that has carried him through it and helped him to achieve his dreams.
