Bad Bunny Cast As Marvel Lucha Libre Superhero
Bad Bunny has entered the Marvel Universe… as a luchador.
When Bad Bunny stepped into the squared circle at Wrestlemania 37, a lot of wrestling fans were sceptical of his possible performance as with every celebrity match, however Bad Bunny not only did well for celebrity standards, he did well period, even at one point hitting a Canadian Destroyer on the outside. Fans have been more than vocal that a Bad Bunny return to the ring would be well received and now he will return to the ring as a superhero.
The Latin American rapper will play Marvel’s El Muerto, a spin-off from the Spiderman universe, a character that has deep roots in lucha libre pro wrestling. The news was announced Tuesday morning at CinemaCon.
“To bring El Muerto to life is just incredible, so exciting,” Bad Bunny said.
The character of Juan Carlos has powers due to a wrestling mask passed down through his family and at one point even wrestles Spiderman. It was hinted at CinemaCon that rather than be a face or a heel the character will be more of a tweener, time will tell how Bad Bunny’s return to the squared circle will be once this movie released but I’m sure many wrestling fans are excited for this movie’s eventual release.
