On April 27’s episode of AEW: Dynamite, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood of the tag team FTR put their partnership aside to go head to head in the ring, against each other. Both Wheeler and Harwood were battling for a spot in the Owen Hart Cup Tournament, which is set to begin on May 11. Cageside Seats reports that it was Harwood who overcame his partner to qualify for the tournament.
The match was highly technical, with Harwood’s and Wheeler’s well honed knowledge of each other’s movesets serving as a double edged sword. Harwood was able to overcome Wheeler with a cradle cover for a pinfall victory. He joins Kyle O’Reilly, Samoa Joe, and Adam Cole, who have already qualified.
