Sammy Guevara Suffered Injury During TNT Title Ladder Match

Sammy Guevara is no stranger to high risk spots in AEW. He takes a lot of chances and due to his agility he can pull off some spots that blow the minds of fans everywhere.

Many fans have soured on Guevara for a number of reasons, but even his biggest critics have to admire his high flying ability. However, not every spot can go according to plan and we saw an example of that on AEW Dynamite when Sammy attempted a 630 off a ladder, landing primarily on his neck and shoulder.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that while Guevara was not seriously hurt in the spot, he did end up hurting his neck and shoulder on the spot. Following the spot, Scorpio Sky would end up winning the ladder match after appearances from Paige VanZant, Dan Lambert and Tay Conti.

“Sammy Guevara was injured on 4/27 in the ladder match where he lost the TNT title to Scorpio Sky. It was a few minutes into the match when he climbed to nearly the top of a ladder and came off with an attempt at a 630 bodyblock and the speed he came down was so fast that Sky couldn’t break his fall and he landed on his neck and his left shoulder. He said he was okay but hurt his neck and his back. They were in split screen for the next several minutes.”

Many fans were hoping to see fresh matchups for the TNT title, and it could be happening sooner rather than later if Sammy is hurt.
