Kenny Omega has been a champion of women’s wrestling for a while. In the past he has defended AEW’s Women’s division and has said his first interest in AEW is to get women featured more prominently on AEW television. Omega has been notably interested in bringing joshi talents over to the US, and most of those talents come from Stardom.
On Twitter, former WWE superstar Disco Inferno mocked the idea of the joshi women wrestling yesterday being the best women’s wrestling in the world and Kenny was not happy:
Kenny went all in on Inferno and you can’t blame him. Joshi wrestlers are incredibly talented and just because it is not the western style of wrestling, does not mean it isn’t great to watch. Hopefully going forward we see more crossover stars from Stardom to AEW.
