Friday was a depressing day as a wrestling fan as once again, WWE have released a litany of talents, including Dakota Kai, Dexter Lumis and Malcolm Bivens.
With all the releases being strictly NXT talents – some fans speculated if there were more cuts coming from the main roster. Dave Meltzer has added to that speculation on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio reports that the cuts aren’t done yet and main roster releases are coming:
“There were 10 [NXT releases] and there’s people in the company who think that’s not it. I’ve heard rumblings about more…”
“There’s definitely people on the main roster that you could see could be [cut]. I guess the idea is to do it before the investors call, I don’t know. That seems like the idea.”

Once again with the current crop of releases, budget cuts were cited as the reasons for the releases, while Bivens had made it clear he would not be extending his contract with the WWE. Look out for anyone on the main roster you haven’t seen recently, it is incredibly likely we may see many of the wrestlers chasing the 24/7 title released. Mustafa Ali would have been a candidate if he had not just returned to RAW last Monday.
