Dante Martin has been going through a rough spot as a tag team wrestler, he has a promising team in Top Flight with his brother Darius. The only issue is Darius has suffered yet another horrific injury. This will lead to another long lay off from the ring. One person who just recently came back from injury was former AEW Tag Team Champion Rey Fenix. Fenix returned last Wednesday on Dynamite to reunite Death Triangle to take on The House Of Black.
Now it appears that the two high fliers will cross paths in singles competition as JJ Williams of WON reports that in an interview with Tony Schiavone at today’s Dark tapings, it was announced that Fenix will take on Dante in a Owen Hart Cup Qualifier. This match will likely take place on this weeks AEW Dynamite on Wednesday.
It will be Rey Fenix’s first singles match since returning from an arm injury and Dante will look to recapture the hype he held during Darius Martin’s last injury break. Currently Adam Cole, Darby Allin, Kyle O’ Reilly, Samoa Joe and Dax Harwood have all qualified for the tournament.
