Malcolm Bivens Passed On Managing Omos
Malcolm Bivens was one of the ten NXT talents released earlier this week along with names such as Dakota Kai and Dexter Lumis.
At the time of his release, Bivens was managing the NXT stable The Diamond Mine. Reports have said Bivens had passed on signing a new contract with WWE. It appears he will return to the indie circuit following his short run in the company. Fightful have broke news regarding a main roster opportunity for Bivens and another NXT talent turned manager.
Fightful Select reports that an idea was pitched for Bivens to manage Omos, but Bivens passed on the idea. La Knight was also considered for the role as Omos’ manager. Ultimately, MVP was chosen to betray Bobby Lashley and align with Omos while La Knight will be managing Mace.
“WWE had tentative main roster plans for Malcolm Bivens, and had pitched his name as a potential manager for Omos months ago, before MVP was solidified as the direction. In addition, we’re told LA Knight was considered for the spot. However, when presented a new, restructured contract, Bivens passed on it after re-signing last year. We’re told that his deal was set to expire towards the beginning of 2023. Despite the main roster pitches, Bivens was said to have no desire to re-sign.”
Fightful also report that Bivens and Dakota Kai’s deals with the WWE were set to expire in early 2023.
