One of the pillars of AEW may be on their way out of the company.
Earlier this year, reports surfaced that MJF was unhappy with his AEW contract and was planning not to re-sign with the company. He has repeatedly speculated on the possibility of facing WWE wrestlers. He also speaks of WWE not as a possibility, but a guarantee by the end of his in ring career.
Fightful Select now reports that MJF remains frustrated with his contract is now leaning toward leaving the company following his contract’s completion in 2024.
“Though the two talked out their issues in the following week, (regarding a heated discussion the pair had in April), MJF’s sentiments about possibly going to WWE when his contract is up are not in character but it’s a subject he has already weighed.”
“Many don’t believe that MJF and Tony Khan are as close as they were prior to the reported discussion.”
“MJF is said to be leaning towards leaving AEW as of now when his deal is up.”
