The two best in the world may be also playing a pivotal role behind the scenes.
We have witnessed CM Punk and Bryan Danielson evolve as professional wrestlers before our eyes. From being small indie kids to reaching the top of the mountain in the WWE to joining AEW as two of the most respected veterans in the sport. Since both joining AEW, they have both wrestled several young stars in singles and tag matches, putting over several wrestlers apiece in losses.
While speaking on the DDP Snake Pit podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer DDP discussed veterans helping out younger talent in pro wrestling and namedropped Punk and Danielson as great examples:
“If you look at some of the older guys, like CM Punk and Bryan Danielson, these guys are turning into the real storytellers today. They’re out there, they’ve slowed down because of age. But also their working IQ (is better than ever). Their stuff is awesome. I love watching what they’re doing. It’s helping new talent. It’s kind of a mixture of old school and new school because they’re still doing some pretty amazing, crazy s–t.”
