Something usually saved for Comedy Central is now going to happen at a wrestling convention.
Ric Flair has been in the news a lot over the last few days as Flair prepares to make his return to the ring for one last match at 73 years old. While many fans aren’t happy with the health risks Flair will be taking, it has definitely succeeding in getting everyone talking about The Nature Boy once again.
A press release from Starrcast announced The Roast of Ric Flair on July 29. The Nature Boy will welcome other famous wrestling personalities to take shots at him live on stage.
“The last weekend in July is going to be Ric’s swan song in a professional wrestling ring, so what better way to send him off before his final match than giving him a proper roast? Ric’s career has transcended professional wrestling and made him a pop culture icon. You’ve seen his influence everywhere from sports to hip hop. He’s done it all, except get roasted by some of his dearest friends and the most talented comedians in the world. That all changes on July 29th.”
